WIN FREE LOOT: Geek Outlaw is Giving Away Free Comics on (you guessed it) Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day - Geek Outlaw

The obligatory Free Comic Book Day selfie.

As they say: ’tis better to give than receive and the Outlaw is one giving guy.  In honor of nerd pop culture’s growing time-honored tradition—going on 12 years now—I will be sending out a free comic to some of my lucky fellow Outlaws for Free Comic Book Day!

While I’m no comic book shop (although if you saw my collection you might argue) I have a limited supply of Identity Comics first-ever issue of Verge, which was just released a few short months ago.  (You can see my review here.  A podcast with creator, Lars Canty, is coming soon!)

Pick a comic, any comic… as long as it’s Verge #1.

So, how do you get one of the 11 copies I’m giving away?  (Don’t ask me why I picked 11, I have a strange thing with numbers and it is my birthday day.)  All you have to do is respond to this post and tell me what your favorite comic book character or series is and why.  The first 11 (non-bot) posts to this page get the comic shipped to them free of charge!  That’s it, nothing else to it.

The top 11 posters will of course also need to email their shipping addresses to: GeekOutlaw@Outlook.com.

So what are you waiting for?  Only the first 11 Outlaws with the fastest draw… err, keyboards will win!

I love redhood comics. He to me is what batman should do to end Gotham crime but wont so Redhood does it himself. I love it.

  2. My favorite comic is Hate by peter berg. He also did great post apocalypse novel.

  3. My favorite comic book series is Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s the only comic I collected, and there were some legitimately fun and interesting issues, like Mecha Sonic vs. Mecha Knuckles.

  4. Sandman. Its not about heroes or villains but the human condition wrapped in allegory.

  5. Martin Van Wagner says:

Daredevil, fell in love with this character because of the first series by Frank Miller. Beta Ray Bill and Walt Simonson’s Thor series would be a very close second!

  6. Jim Enlow says:

I’ve always loved The Haunted Tank from when I was ever so younger than I am now… I used to read & reread over & over again those loved comics while driving with my parents in that big old camper we used to take trips every summer.

I guess I am old school comic book reader. I like the Super team of Batman and Superman. For a lot of people, Superman is and has always been America’s hero. He stands for what we believe is the best within us: limitless strength tempered by compassion, that can bear adversity and emerge stronger on the other side. He stands for what we all feel we would like to be able to stand for, when standing is hardest. quote by ” J. Michael Straczynski”

  9. Batman. He was the first hero without powers that I encountered.

  10. Jessica Huggins says:

I am a female so I adore Poison Ivy :)

  11. Amanda Coleman says:

My favorite is Buffy the Vampire Slayer- Whedonista all the way!
