Now that we are about four months deep into 2015, it can only mean one thing: time to talk about the most anticipated movies of the year. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know a quarter of the year is almost behind us, but the big-budget blockbuster geek-faire doesn’t start hitting theaters until Memorial Day weekend. In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked in the least to learn Hollywood has secretly been lobbying congress to have the months of January, February, March and April completely abolished from the calendar. (I wouldn’t put it past the Tinsel Town execs to throw September and October under the bus on such a proposed bill also.)

Conspiracy theories aside, this edition of The Wild Wild Podcast focuses on the most-anticipated movies being released during ‘The Year of Our Geek, 2015.’ While it might seem like we are a year late and a dollar short, this isn’t your grandfathers most-anticipated list. What you are about to hear hasn’t been created by any fancy scientific study or market research survey, it’s a top 5 list of movies Geek Outlaw and Spunky Destructor are chomping at the bit to see this year. I know what you’re thinking, who gives a flaming donkey’s behind what we think. If you answered no one, you’re probably not far off, but I will tell you that there are a couple of surprises on our lists that might make you do a double-take.

Age of Ultron Star Wars

Faces only a mother could put up for adoption.

To make things even more interesting, I put my boot down from the very beginning that neither my co-host or I could include that little-known indy release titled The Avengers: Age of Ultron or that poorly publicized low-budget film some people are apparently referring to as Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What, no Outlaw?

If that wasn’t enough to bring your ears over to the dark side, we temporarily transport back to 2014 and provide a semblance of a review for Horrible Bosses 2 (don’t look at me, Spunky D made the call on that front). More importantly, we also pay homage to the passing of pop-culture icons Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek), Sam Simon (The Simpsons) and Terry Pratchett (Discworld book series).

If your ears are burning, it’s just your gray matter subconsciously telling you it needs to listen to this episode of The Wild Wild Podcast. Or, you have a severe ear canal infection that you should probably get checked out… immediately.

Three RIP

R.I.P. to these tremendous three.
