Analyze each face carefully. This is how society will react when donuts cease to exist.

What do rotting undead flesh-eating corpses and donuts have in common? For starters, surround yourself with enough of either and you’re bound to find yourself 6 feet under. Outside of that oddly constructed connection, there really isn’t much these two subjects share. Alas, leave it to Geek Outlaw to find a way to bring them together like peanut butter and jelly.

In preparation for this special Walking Dead episode of the Wild Wild Podcast, I decided to keep in the spirit of this month’s Halloween theme by heading down to my local Krispy Kreme in order to pick up a few of the new Ghostbusters donuts–only available until the end of this month.

“What do you mean you forgot to grab a jelly-filled?”

Granted when I say local, one probably imagines me taking a quick 10 minute field trip around the corner to grab some of the infamous fried pastries. That couldn’t be further from the truth: the closest location required that I either make airline reservations via Priceline or buy a Prius before making the drive. I may be blowing that a bit out of proportion, but let’s just say once traffic and freeway closures are taken into account, the leisurely round-trip drive of over two hours was enough to make me want to hurl cream-filled donuts into on-coming traffic (which of course was moving at speeds that made the Autobahn look like a school zone).

Nevertheless, the drive was well worth the wait as Spunky Destructor and I forged our ways into a marshmallow cream-induced coma by the end of the podcast.

Please please please please let it be Maggie. Did I mention “please”?

Oh, and speaking of the podcast and cream-filled treats, make sure you listen to the spoiler-filled Wild Wild Podcast #12 to hear our thoughts on the highly anticipated season five premiere of The Walking Dead, our favorite characters of the series, and a breakdown as to why the undead hit is one of the best shows on the boob tube today.

Without further ado, go ahead and click the link to hear how we felt about this season’s first undead episode and the donuts we ever so gracefully devoured on air. Mmmm… undead… (drool).

  1. I am a member of a college radio station in Long Beach, CA there will be an event during our homecoming game on Nov. 15th, the theme is heroes and villains and we need cosplayers. Now we can’t offer much in the way imbursement, but if you have a new character you want to preview we have a place to show it off and take pictures with some of our students. We will have an impromptu costume contest and we will have some great prizes. This is more of a request for just a couple hours of volunteer work to help small college radio station get more notoriety. Also we want to upstage the other clubs on campus and show them that the small radio club can compete with the big dogs. We also want to let the nerd community we’re here for them. I hope you will consider it any questions please e-mail me at cm62783@yahoo.com (that’s my personal e-mail) I hope you consider helping us. Thank You
